162,180 new builds were seen in 2017, this is a 5% increase compared to 2016, per government statistics.
163,250 completions have been documented in the same period – a 16% rise paralleled to 2016.
New-build starts have been projected at 41,280 for October, November and December 2017.
This is a 5% rise compared to the prior three months, but a decrease of 1% from 2016.
Per the figures, there was a 7% increase (42,860 completions) compared to the previous quarter, as well as a 17% rise compared to the December 2016 quarter.
The 2017 private sector new-builds are showing as 8% higher compared to the 2016 quarter, with completions increasing by 7%.
A 2% rise from December 2016 to December 2017 was also seen in the number of new builds started by housing associations, with completions rising by 1%.
All starts are now 141% higher than the March 2009 quarter, per the statistical report.
Having said this the report also states a 16% decrease compared to the March 2007 quarter peak.
