In comparison to the previous three months, there has been a 3% rise in New-build home starts in England in the last quarter.
It has been mentioned by The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) housing statistical that this is 21% increase compared to the same quarter in 2016.
In the 3 months to the 31st of March 2017, the number of completions is said to be an estimated 39,520, which is a 9% increase compared to the previous quarter, and a 21% increase from the same period in 2016.
There was a 15% increase in new-build dwelling starts in the year to March 2017, with 162,880 in comparison to the year to March 2016.
There was a total of 147,960 completions within this period, which is a 6% rise compared to the previous year.
Within the private sector in the March quarter 2017, a 4% increase was seen in new-build dwelling starts, alongside a 12% rise in completions compared to the previous three months.
Within the same period, housing associations saw a 2% rise in starts, and a 5% rise in completions.
